Hermance Machine Company introduces a new helical cutterhead, designed to be a planer cutterhead, a moulder cutterhead, or a jointer cutterhead. Our unique design offers several important advantages over a spiral cutterhead.
First we designed our cutterhead to support the carbide insert knives on three sides to reduce blade chipping and cracking. Second, we aerodynamically designed the cutterhead to run more quietly than straight blade or any other spiral cutterhead. Preliminary tests have shown a 15-20Db reduction when run on an SCM Superset compared to a straight blade moulder head.
