MACHINERY INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION IS PLEASED TO OFFER A MODERN PLANT

FACILITY TO MANUFACTURE UP TO 5000 METRIC TONS OF COPPER ROD PLUS

4500 METRIC TONS OF COPPER TUBE ANNUALLY USING THE UPCAST SYSTEM. THE PLANT,

WHICH WAS INSTALLED WITH MOSTLY NEW MACHINERY IN 1996, HAS THE CAPACITY TO

TRIPLE THIS PRODUCTION USING THE EXISTING DOWNSTREAM MACHINERY BY ADDING

ADDITIONAL CASTING CAPABILITY, SUCH AS TWO ADDITIONAL UPCAST UNITS.

THE MACHINERY CAN BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY FOR RELOCATION FOR THE PRICE WHICH

WILL BE SENT TO YOU IF YOU REQUEST A QUOTE. HOWEVER WE CAN ALSO SELL YOU THE

LAND AND BUILDINGS, AND YOU CAN START UP AND RUN THE PLANT ON SITE ALMOST

IMMEDIATELY. THE PLANT IS LOCATED IN AN INDUSTRIAL PARK IN MEXICO, WHERE LABOR

COSTS ARE VERY LOW. IT WAS DESIGNED TO BE DEVELOPED IN FOUR STAGES. ONLY

STAGE 1 WAS COMPLETED. THE FOUNDATIONS HAVE BEEN POURED FOR STAGE 2. THE

ADJOINING LAND FOR STAGES 3 AND 4 ARE AVAILABLE. THUS THE PROPERTY CAN BE

PURCHASED FOR AN ADDITIONAL PRICE FOR RAPID START-UP AND EXPANSION ON THE

EXISTING SITE.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR INSTALLATION AND START-UP EITHER ON THE EXISTING

BEFORE SHUTTING DOWN THE PLANT, MAINTENANCE WAS DONE TO THE UPWARD CONTINUOUS

CASTING UNIT.

THE INDUCTORS AND BOTH CRUCIBLES WERE ASSEMBLED WITH A LONG-LIFE REFRACTORY

LINING MATERIAL NAMED: V - CAST - 426

WITH THIS MATERIAL AND PROPER OPERATION THE FURNACES CAN WORK WITHOUT MAJOR

MAINTENANCE AT A TEMPERATURE OF 1500 DEG. CELSIUS (2732 DEG. FAHRENHEIT).

COPPER MELTING INDEX IS 1084 DEG. C (1903 DEG. F)

IF THE FURNACES ARE OPERATED WITH ALUMINUM, THE LIFE OF THE REFRACTORY

MATERIAL CAN BE EXTENDED DUE TO THE ALUMINUM WORKING TEMP. 750 DEG. C.

III. RAW MATERIALS
HIGH QUALITY PURE COPPER CATHODE, WHICH CAN BE MIXED WITH CLEAN COPPER

SCRAP IN LESS THAN 5% ~ 8% OF THE TOTAL MATERIALS.

THE COPPER CATHODE HAS THE CHEMICAL PROPERTIES AS FOLLOWS:
- CU + AG >= 99.97%
- FE >= 10 PPM
- BI <= 5 PPM
- P <= 3 PPM
- S <= 20 PPM
- PB <= 5 PPM

THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THIS SIX ELEMENTS SUCH AS FE + SI + SN + NI + ZN + CO
MUST BE LESS THAN 20 PPM.

INCLUSIONS THAT AFFECT THE CONDUCTIVITY OF THE ROD, OR THAT CAN INCREASE

THE CONTENT OF OXYGEN MUST BE AS MINIMAL AS POSSIBLE.

2.2. POWER SUPPLY
BY PRODUCING EACH ONE-TON OF ROD, THE UPCASTING MACHINE CONSUMES ELECTRICITY

AT 380 KWH/T APPROXIMATELY.

THE AUXILIARY MACHINES, NOT INCLUDING THE FURNACES, CONSUME 85 KW
MINIMUM INPUT POWER OF THE STAND-BY POWER SUPPLY: 150 KW

THE ABOVE DATA WAS MEASURED WHEN THE MELTING FURNACE IS AT ITS BEST WORKING

STATE WITH MAXIMUM POWER. IF THE FURNACES ARE WORKING AT A LOWER RATE, THE

CONSUMPTION OF ELECTRICITY CAN BE HIGHER BY EACH UNIT OUTPUT. DURING NORMAL

OPERATION, IF POWER SUPPLY STOPS FOR A LONG TIME, THE MELTED COPPER IN THE

FURNACE WILL FREEZE AND WILL DAMAGE. THEREFORE, THERE IS A DIESEL POWER

GENERATOR IN THE PLANT, WHICH STARTS AUTOMATICALLY OR MANUALLY.

2.3. COOLING WATER SUPPLY

2.3.1. NORMAL OPERATION
WHEN COPPER ROD IS BEING CAST, THE COOLING WATER MUST BE SUPPLIED TO THE

INDUCTOR OF THE FURNACE AND THE CRYSTALLIZERS OF THE UPCASTING MACHINE.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ACHIEVE A SATISFACTORILY COOLING RESULT.

CONSUMPTION OF COOLING WATER:
- INDUCTORS OF FURNACES: 14m3/H
- CRYSTALLIZER OF UPCASTING MECHANISM: 14.4m3/H
- PRESSURE OF COOLING WATER: 0.3 ~ 0.6 MPA
- MAXIMUM INLET WATER TEMPERATURE: 32 DEG. C
- MAXIMUM RETURN WATER TEMPERATURE: 55 DEG. C

2.3.3. EMERGENCY WATER SUPPLY
AS INSUFFICIENT COOLING WATER WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT, TO

GUARANTEE THAT THE COOLING WATER SYSTEM WILL NOT PAUSE FOR OVER 60 SECONDS,

AN EMERGENCY WATER TANK IS INSTALLED FOR INCASE OF A BREAKDOWN. THE EMERGENCY

WATER TANK IS ENOUGH TO OPERATE THE UP-WARD CONTINUOUS CASTING UNIT. THE

SYSTEM WORKS WITH GRAVITY.

CONSUMPTION IN CASE OF EMERGENCY:
